Head of VNPF terminates female staff to cover up sexual harassment
Last year Vanuatu National Provident Fund’s (VNPF) acting General Manager (GM) Viliame Baleitavua was suspended due to alleged sexual assault against a VNPF female member of staff, reports today Yumi Toktok Stret.
According to the report, the suspended Viliame Baleitavua just recently has been reinstated as acting General Manager. Furthermore, his first request to the VNPF Board is to terminate the woman he allegedly sexually assaulted.
The VNPF Board decided to satisfy his request and to terminate the woman.
“Sources inside VNPF say the move is to cover up ‘sexual harassment’ which does exist in the VNPF management level,” YTS’ report says.
