New CEO ‘to rescue VBTC from its current state’
The Vanuatu Broadcasting and Television Corporation has announced the appointment of Mr. Francis Edmond Herman as VBTC’s new Chief Executive Officer. His appointment is effective as of November 21st.
Mr. Johnson Naviti Marakipule, VBTC Chairman, said: “After series of interviews, the Board concluded that Mr. Herman’s leadership and considerable experience in both Media and Marketing, along with his strong track record of success as former CEO of Fiji Broadcasting, and strong networking throughout the region, make him the most preferred candidate for the role.”
“Mr. Herman’s appointment is in line with the recommendations of the latest review report on the VBTC. VBTC needs strong and qualified leadership to rescue the organization from its current state.”
Chairman Naviti, who is also Director General of the Prime Minister Office, says the Council of Ministers has approved the review recommendations and therefore Mr. Herman’s mandate is to ensure the recommendations are implemented forthwith.
Mr. Herman is not new to VBTC having been Team leader of Vois Blong Yumi Project in Vanuatu (2009-2011) and Program Manager of Pacmas – Pacific Media Assistance Scheme (2010-2017).
